Buying shares is a risk investment, your application for membership and your agreement to abide by the Co-op's Rules. You will not need to be a member to shop at the co-op but shopping times for non members may be restricted and some benefit from the success of the Island Roots Co-operative will go to members only. Your liability is limited to the value of the shares you purchase.
